Ayesha was born in Chembur Mumbai, Maharashtra to a Gujarati father,
Nishit and a mother of mixed British-Maharashtra descent, Faridah.
She attended St. Anthony's High School in Chembur. She has a younger sister named Natasha. On 1 March 2009, Ayesha married Farhan Azmi, a restaurateur and the son of politician Abu Asim Azmi, a Samajwadi Party leader. The couple had originally planned to marry in December 2008, but the wedding was delayed due to the 2008 Mumbai attacks. In 2009, Wanted costarring Salman Khan emerged as one of the biggest commercial success of her career. The film was third highest grossing movie of the year.Her role met with positive reviews. She then starred in Paathshaala along with actor shahid kapoor,the movie was average hit. As of 2011 she starred in Mod which met with good response.
